Introduction:
Over the past week, the untimely passing of two people in my neighbourhood and friend circles has deeply affected me. It serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment we have. This experience has prompted me to contemplate how to make the most of my time on this earth. If I am 45 now and live to be 100, I have a finite number of days, breaths, and moments left (I only have about 17,746,400, for instance). This realization has fuelled a desire within me to awaken my greatness and leave behind meaningful memories for others. Today, I want to share this reflection with you and encourage you to embrace each day with purpose and gratitude.
Awakening Your Greatness:
Life is unpredictable, and we cannot change the past, but we can shape our present and future. Instead of dwelling on past mistakes or circumstances beyond our control, let's focus on the opportunity to make a positive impact from today onwards. To awaken your greatness, I suggest three daily practices that can transform your life and the lives of others.
1. Create Three Good Memories for Others:
Think about the people around you, the ones you love and cherish. Aim to create at least three good memories for them every day. It could be as simple as offering a listening ear to a friend in need, spending quality time with your family, or performing an act of kindness for a neighbour. These small gestures of love and compassion can leave a lasting imprint on others' hearts.
2. Be Grateful for at least three things each day:
Each day, take a moment to reflect on three things you are grateful for. Gratitude is a powerful tool that benefits your soul and brings positivity into your life. It shifts your focus from what's lacking to the abundance that surrounds you. Express gratitude for the little things, such as a beautiful sunrise, a warm cup of tea, or the laughter of loved ones. Embracing gratitude enhances your overall well-being and attracts more positivity into your life.
3. Consider three things each day that enable a Positive Future:
While living in the present is crucial, we must also plan for a positive future. Set goals and aspirations that align with your passions and values. It could be learning a new skill, pursuing a hobby, or progressing in your career. Or it could be just consistently doing three daily things that make you stronger. For instance, whether I like it or not, I try to get some physical activity every day, I try to write each day, and I try to create one new opportunity for my business each day. These are small things in and of themselves, but over time, these small things compound and make a significant positive difference. By taking small steps towards your dreams each day, you'll be amazed at their impact on your life over time.
The Value of Time:
In our pursuit of greatness, we often find ourselves preoccupied with thoughts of money and success. While financial security is essential, let's not forget that time is our most valuable asset. Time is fleeting, and we must invest it wisely. Allocate your time to what truly matters - building meaningful relationships, pursuing personal growth, and contributing to the greater good.
Live a Life Worth Living:
As we navigate the ups and downs of life, let's remember that time is short. Embrace each day to live well and live great. Seek opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of others and cherish the memories you create together. Embrace gratitude as a guiding principle to bring joy and contentment to your life.
Concluding Thoughts:
The recent events have reminded me of the impermanence of life and the urgency to make the most of every moment. Let's awaken our greatness by creating positive memories for others, cultivating gratitude, and planning for a positive future. Money is important, but so is investing our time wisely. Live a life worth living, and let us cherish each day as an opportunity to make a difference in the world. Time is short, so let's live well, live great, and leave behind a legacy of love and kindness for generations to come.

DO IT YOURSELF
To calculate the total number of breaths, you will have taken by the time you reach 100 years old, you can use the following formula:
Total breaths = (Breaths per minute) x (Minutes per hour) x (Hours per day) x (Days per year) x (Years)
So, if I am 45, assuming I take 20 breaths per minute:
Total breaths = 20 breaths/minute x 60 minutes/hour x 24 hours/day x 365 days/year x (100 - 45) years
Total breaths = 20 x 60 x 24 x 365 x 55
Total breaths ≈ 19,060,400 breaths
Now, to calculate how many breaths I have left until I turn 100, I subtract the total breaths taken so far from the total breaths I would take if I lived to 100:
Breaths left = Total breaths at 100 - Total breaths at 45
Breaths left = 19,060,400 breaths (at 100) - 1,314,000 breaths (at 45)
Breaths left ≈ 17,746,400 breaths.
So, if I take 20 breaths per minute and live to be 100 years old, I would have taken approximately 19,060,400 breaths and around 17,746,400 breaths left.
